Abstract:
To provide a printer which can perform printing with a background pattern aligned when printing a printing pattern on a recording medium with the background pattern described by dividing the printing pattern into a plurality of partial patterns.SOLUTION: A printer comprises: division means which divides a printing pattern into a plurality of partial patterns so as to print the printing pattern with the dimension longer in the vertical direction than the width in the vertical direction of a recording medium; detection means which detects the positions of a plurality of reference marks marked in the recording medium; and control means which performs control so that printing means prints the corresponding partial pattern on each of the pair of partial recording media on the basis of the positions of the plurality of reference marks detected by the detection means so that the background patterns of the pair of partial recording media are aligned with respect to each other in the vertical direction in the pair of partial recording media that is adjacent to each other in the vertical direction among the plurality of partial recording media composed of parts of the recording media corresponding to the plurality of partial patterns.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
