Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a twin-drum continuous casting apparatus which can measure a width- direction distribution of a sheet thickness of a metal thin strip directly beneath a cooling drum with high accuracy, and can correct torsion of the metal thin strip.SOLUTION: There is provided the twin-drum continuous casting apparatus producing a metal thin strip S by coagulating a molten metal using a pair of rotating cooling drums. In the casting apparatus, a pair of gas jet ejection devices 31, 32 which are located facing each other so as to cause gas to collide with the metal thin strip S, are provided on one surface side or the other surface side of the metal thin strip S directly beneath the pair of cooling drums in which the coagulated metal thin strip S passes, and in the interiors of the pair of gas jet ejection devices 31, 32, a plurality of non-contact type distance meters 41, 42 for measuring a distance between itself and the metal thin strip S are respectively arranged in a width direction of the metal thin strip S.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
