Abstract:
To improve accuracy of subject tracking.SOLUTION: In a subject tracking device for acquiring image data, detecting a subject, and tracking a target subject, a matching unit 602 collates image data of a feature model expressing a tracking subject to be tracked with input image data and outputs a candidate region of the tracking subject. A subject region determination unit 603 determines a subject region from the candidate region output by the matching section 602. A distance map calculation unit 604 calculates distance information on the input image. A subject distance setting unit 605 acquires, a subject region determined in the past by the subject region determining unit 603, and distance information calculated by the distance map calculation unit 604, and sets a predetermined distance range in which the subject can exist. The subject region determination unit 603 determines the subject region related to the tracking subject from the candidate region extracted by the matching section 603, the subject region being a region corresponding to distance in the predetermined range set by the subject distance setting section 605.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
