Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backrest of a chair following movement or a body shape of a seating person in two or more axial directions.SOLUTION: The backrest of a chair comprises: an elastically-deformable back plate 5; and a back support frame 6 with rigidity for supporting the back plate 5. The back plate 5 includes connection parts 7 having elements for varying a curved length of a backrest surface, at both left/right sides, one for each, near a vertically central part. The back plate 5 and the back support frame 6 are connected at only the connection parts 7. The back plate 5 is supported by the back support frame 6, with it floated therefrom, and the movement of the back plate 5 is confined by only the connection parts 7. The back plate 5 is so configured as to rotate around an axis facing the horizontal direction of the chair, with the connection parts 7 used as a center, and as to be elastically deformable in the longitudinal direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
