Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent or suppress unnecessary actuation of a pedestrian protection device.SOLUTION: In a control system 10 of a pedestrian protection device, when collision information acquired by collision information acquisition means 25 (a bumper sensor 26 and a vehicle speed sensor 28) coincides with a predetermined condition, an ECU 24 actuates the pedestrian protection device (a PUH device 20 and an airbag device 22). The ECU 24 determines the number of pedestrians and the like around a vehicle 12, based on the position of the vehicle 12 and date information obtained from a navigation 30, and changes the condition, based on a determination result. This enables execution of actuation control of the pedestrian protection device according to the number of pedestrians and the like, thereby preventing or suppressing unnecessary actuation of the pedestrian protection device.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
