Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading device capable of reducing the possibility that manuscripts are fed in an overlapping state, and a feeding method.SOLUTION: An image reading device comprises: a feeding section 18 feeding a manuscript D; a feeding detection section 32 capable of detecting the manuscript D fed by the feeding section 18; a conveyance detection section 33 capable of detecting the manuscript D conveyed on a conveyance path 17; a reading section 24 reading an image of the manuscript D conveyed; and a control section 35 controlling driving of the feeding section 18. The feeding detection section 32 and the conveyance detection section 33 output a detection signal detecting the manuscript D and a non-detection signal not detecting the manuscript D. In the case where the number of times of output of the feeding detection section 32 outputting the non-detection signal is one time or less until the conveyance detection section 33 outputs the detection signal after the feeding detection section 32 outputs the detection signal, the control section 35 drives the feeding section 18 when the feeding detection section 32 outputs the non-detection signal after the conveyance detection section 33 outputs the detection signal. In the case where the number of times of output is two times or more, the control section 35 drives the feeding section 18 when the conveyance detection section 33 outputs the non-detection signal.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
