Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a desiccant which is excellent in a moisture absorption rate and can be regenerated at low temperature.SOLUTION: A production method includes: a step of firing a silicic acid plant at 400°C or higher in an inert atmosphere to prepare a silica-carbon composite body; a step of preparing a mixture of the silica-carbon composite body and an Al compound and an alkali metal compound or an alkali earth metal compound and water so that an aluminosilicate in a molar ratio of Si:Al=1:0.1 to 1.2 is produced; a step of subjecting the mixture to a hydrothermal reaction to obtain a porous aluminosilicate-carbon composite body; and a step of subjecting the porous aluminosilicate-carbon composite body to inert gas treatment at 600-800°C to obtain a desiccant.SELECTED DRAWING: None
