Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a catalyst for methane oxidation removal, in the case, in the gas to be treated including methane and oxygen of oxidation equivalent or higher, the methane is oxidized away, exhibiting high methane decomposition capacity to a unit noble metal carrier amount, and the catalyst for methane oxidation removal.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for producing a methane oxidation removal for oxidatively removing methane in the gas to be treated containing the methane and oxygen of the oxidation equivalent or the methane or higher where a zirconium oxide carrier is contacted with a composite noble metal colloIdal solution containing the composite noble metal colloidal particles of iridium and platinum to adsorb the composite noble metal colloIdal particles on the zirconium oxide carrier, thereafter, the liquid phase of the composite noble metal colloidal solution is made to flow out so as to be solid-liquid separation, thus the composite noble metal colloidal particles are carried on the zirconium oxide carrier.SELECTED DRAWING: None
