Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing chromium-containing molten iron that can reduce the silicon concentration in chromium-containing molten iron and also reduce the chromium concentration in slag upon tapping.SOLUTION: In the method of manufacturing the chromium-containing molten iron according to the present invention, chromium-containing molten iron 2 is manufactured by dissolving a chromium-containing raw material in an electric furnace 1. This method comprises charging a desiliconizing agent containing iron oxide as a main component into the electric furnace 1 after forming slag 3 containing chromium oxide in the electric furnace 1 by melting the chromium-containing raw material.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
