Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tunnel excavator capable of constructing a tunnel having a horseshoe-shaped cross-section, by a NATM construction method.SOLUTION: A tunnel excavator includes a cylindrical barrel part, a cutter head 3, a chamber, and a jack provided on a rear side of the barrel part. The chamber includes an area positioned in front of an upper spray device installation part formed on a top outer periphery of the barrel part, and an area for a lateral excavation means installation part (a boom cutter installation part 2D) positioned on right and left sides of the upper spray device installation part on the outer periphery of the barrel part. The tunnel excavator further includes an upper spray device 7A provided on the upper spray device installation part positioned immediately behind the chamber, lateral excavation means (a boom cutter 8) provided on the lateral excavation means installation part for excavating a portion of a natural ground located on right and left sides of the cutter head that is not excavated by the cutter head 3, and a lateral spray device 7B provided on the lateral spray device installation part located immediately behind the lateral excavation means installation part (the boom cutter installation part 2D) forming a part of the chamber.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
