Abstract:
To provide a joining method capable of easily removing a burr.SOLUTION: A joining method for joining a first metal member 1 with a second metal member 2 using a rotary tool F includes: an overlapping process of forming an overlapping part J1 by layering a surface 1a of the first metal member 1 and a reverse surface 2b of the second metal member 2 on top of each other; a frictional agitation process of executing frictional agitation joining by relatively moving the rotary tool F along the overlapping part J1 in a state of placing an agitation pin F2 in contact only with the second metal member 2 or a both of the first metal member 1 and the second metal member 2 by inserting the rotary tool F, which rotates rightward at a high speed, from a surface 2a of the second metal member 2 and inclining a rotary shaft of the rotary tool F to the side of an excess piece part 10 of the second metal member 2; and a removal process of removing a burr V including the excess piece part 10 where the burr V is present in the second metal member 2 with a recessed groove P formed in a plasticizing area W formed in the frictional agitation process as a boundary.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
