PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coated cutting tool which is excellent in chipping resistance and defect resistance and can elongate a tool lifetime through including an oxidation-resistant layer that is excellent in wear resistance.SOLUTION: Provided is a coated cutting tool which includes a base material and a coated layer formed on the surface of the base material. The coated layer includes at least one hard layer, the hard layer is an oxide layer or an oxynitride layer of an element M, where the element M expresses either element of W or Ta, and the average thickness of the hard layer is 0.005 μm to 1.0 μm.SELECTED DRAWING: None
