Abstract:
To report the occurrence of power source failure with a simple configuration and avoid instantaneous interruption of power supply even if power source failure (especially power reception) occurs at a power reception side on a line using redundant PoE power supply.SOLUTION: A power reception device connected with a plurality of paths conducting both of power supply and communication signals and actually receiving power supply from at least one path and transmitting and receiving communication signals includes: a power source monitoring unit for monitoring supply voltage during power supply from the path; a determination unit for determining whether reception of power supply from the path should be stopped depending on whether the supply voltage is below a prescribed threshold value; and a cutoff unit for having response processing of a communication signal via the path stopped if the determination unit determines stop of reception of power supply from the path.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
