Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insulating film composition which has sufficient electric insulation properties, is excellent in heat resistance, and can be easily applied onto a surface of a metal base material, and to provide a metal member having the insulating film formed thereon.SOLUTION: An insulating film composition has an insulating film formed on a surface of a metal base material, and contains smectite clay mineral, a viscosity-reducing agent, and a dispersion medium. The metal member has an insulating film, the insulating film has a solid solution layer and a clay layer derived from smectite clay mineral in order from the metal base material, the solid solution layer contains a constituent element of the metal base material and a constituent element of the smectite clay mineral, and a resistance value of the insulating film is 1.00×10Ω or more.SELECTED DRAWING: None
