Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passenger conveyor with a width direction extending handrail which can suppress contact between passengers and falling of a passenger.SOLUTION: An escalator 1 comprises: a driving side sprocket 16 rotated by power from a drive device 15; a step 18 coupled to a step chain 23 wound between the driving side sprocket 16 and a driven side sprocket 17 to circularly move; a handrail mounting member 19 which is provided on the side of a step board 25 of the step 18 and circularly moved at the same speed as the step 18 by power from the drive device 15; and a plurality of handrails 20 mounted to the handrail mounting member 19 at intervals in a circulation direction of the handrail mounting member 19. The handrail 20 is arranged above the step board 25 at a position adjacent to the step board 25 in a width direction X of the step board 25 and extends in the width direction X of the step board 25.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
