Abstract:
To provide a flap that can efficiently adjust an expanding direction of an air bag cushion, with a simple structure and an air bag device comprising the flap.SOLUTION: A cloth-like flap 120 is wrapping an air bag cushion 108 in a storage form in which the cushion is stored in a storage part 106 provided in a vehicle interior. The flap 120 comprises a cleavage part 122 that is cleaved accompanying inflation/expansion of the air bag cushion 108. The cleavage part 122 has a trajectory non-parallel to a virtual straight line L1 extending in a predetermined direction above the flap 120. A part farthest from the straight line in the cleavage part 122 is positioned at one section E1 side in a case where the air bag cushion 108 is divided into two equal sections on a plane perpendicular to the straight line. The flap 120 applies larger kinetic friction to the one section E1 of the air bag cushion 108 than that of the other section E2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
