Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a building capable of reducing damages due to earthquake without using any expansion joint in a boundary part between blocks each having different behavior in earthquake.SOLUTION: A building 10 includes: a first block (high-rise block 20) to which a rigidity is added by using an earthquake resistant element (buckling restraint brace 30); a second block (low-rise block 40) having a rigidity smaller than that of the first block, which is joined integrally with the first block via joist and slab; and a damping member (oil damper 50) which is disposed in the second block at a position separated way from the center of gravity viewed from the center of rigidity of the first block and the second block which are integrally joined to each other.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
