Abstract:
To provide a divided ring resonator as a small-sized metamaterial dynamic element of which a control range in a transmission path amount is large.SOLUTION: A divided ring resonator 10 comprises: an annular first conductive part 11; a second conductive part 12 and a third conductive part 13 formed in a space surrounded by the first conductive part; a division part 14 formed between the second conductive part 12 and the third conductive part 13; and a variable resistance element RVS. A circulating current asymmetric to a surface parallel to an electric field surface of an incident electromagnetic wave is excited in an electric connection between the second conductive part 12 and the third conductive part 13 and the first conductive part 11. In a discharge scattered wave by an electric dipole induced in the division part the asymmetric circulating current, a first state having an electromagnetic component to a first direction orthogonal to an electromagnetic component direction of the incident electromagnetic wave and a second state having the electromagnetic component of a second direction inversely directed to the first direction exclusively exist.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
