Abstract:
To provide a highly sensitive AD converter.SOLUTION: The AD converter includes two or more columns. Each column includes, for each column, one or more charge storage elements (capacitors) for holding potential of a corresponding pixel signal line with respect to certain reference potential, individually performs A/D conversion of the potential held in a charge storage element of each column during normal operation, and connects an output terminal of the charge storage element of each column and a terminal that is the reference potential in series to perform AD conversion by adding the potentials held in the charge storage element of each column.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
