Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary damper capable of improving durability by simplifying a structure while enabling ON/OFF control to be performed on an attenuation force of the rotary damper.SOLUTION: A rotary damper comprises: an attenuation force generation part 7 in which a functional fluid F is interposed, for generating an attenuation force by passing a magnetic flux loop R between a rotor 5 and a case 3 that are relatively freely rotatable; a permanent magnet 9 including at least a pair of magnetic poles 27a and 27b for generating the magnetic flux loop R over the attenuation force generation part 7; and a case body 13 as a switching part which is disposed between the attenuation force generation part 7 and the permanent magnet 9 and changes a relative position to the permanent magnet 9, thereby switching between an attenuation force generation state where the magnetic flux loop R is spread over the attenuation force generation part 7, and an attenuation force non-generation state where a magnetic flux loop R' is short-circuited without being spread over the attenuation force generation part 7.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
