PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnesium air battery electrode that suppresses generation of hydrogen peroxide, and a magnesium air battery.SOLUTION: There are provided: a magnesium air battery electrode containing one or more metal complexes selected from the group consisting of a cobalt complex and an iron complex; the magnesium air battery electrode in which the metal complex is a cobalt complex; the magnesium air battery electrode in which the cobalt complex has ligand atoms, and at least one of the ligand atoms is a nitrogen atom or oxygen atom; the magnesium air battery electrode in which the metal complex is an iron complex; and a magnesium air battery having the magnesium air battery electrode.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
