Abstract:
To provide a bumper attachment structure capable of exerting a bumper sag prevention capability and sustaining a pedestrian protection performance.SOLUTION: A bumper attachment bracket that projects forward in a vehicle is located in the center in a vehicle width direction of an upper frame of a radiator support. A bumper is fastened to the bracket. The fastening point is set to a point ahead of a position of a center of gravity of the bumper. Even when a moment of rotation having the bumper fastening point as a fulcrum occurs, the moment of rotation acts in a direction of pushing up the bumper. This prevents a sag of the bumper. A bead part intended to ensure rigidity is formed at a bracket proximal end. A front end point of the bead part is set to a point behind the fastening point of the bumper, and a rigidity breakpoint is set to the front end point. Accordingly, the bracket is prevented from affecting the impact absorption performance of the bumper in the event that a vehicle collides with an obstacle. When the lower end of the bracket is fastened to a center brace, the rigidity at the upper end of the center brace is improved.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
