Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a high-pressure fuel pump that allows simplification of component shapes and is provided with a seal section protection mechanism. In order to achieve this, the high-pressure fuel pump is provided with: a plunger 2 that includes a large-diameter section 2a and a small-diameter section 2b; a pressurization chamber 11 the volume of which increases and decreases in accordance with the reciprocal movement of the plunger 2; and a seal section 13 that seals space between an outer-peripheral-side space (secondary chamber 7a) of the small-diameter section 2b of the plunger 2 and an external space. A regulating member 16 is disposed between the seal section 13 and a lower surface 2c of the large-diameter section 2a of the plunger 2 and regulates the movement of the large-diameter section 2a of the plunger 2 toward the opposite side from the pressurization chamber 11. The regulating member 16 includes a facing surface 16c that faces the lower surface 2c of the large-diameter section 2a, a gap section 16e is formed in the regulating member 16 between an innermost section of the facing surface 16c and the small-diameter section 2b, and, in addition to the gap section 16e, a communication path 16d that communicates between a space (secondary chamber 7a) on the upper side of the facing surface 16c and a space 7b on the lower side is formed in the regulating member 16.
