PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly advance business associated with currency processing by a currency processing system having a new mechanism.SOLUTION: A currency processing system 1 comprises: a currency processing apparatus (teller machine 21), and an external apparatus (a teller machine 31, a management computer 33, a table terminal 331, a smart phone 332, or a PC 333) present in a different place from the facilities where the currency processing apparatus is installed. A first communication unit of the currency processing apparatus transmits to the external apparatus a request signal requesting approval associated with processing that a processing unit is to execute in response to an operator's operation on the currency processing apparatus, and a second communication unit of the external apparatus receives the request signal from the currency processing apparatus, and transmits an approval signal or denial signal to the currency processing apparatus in response to an operator's operation on the external device.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
