Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method and device of manufacturing a glass substrate, and provides the method of manufacturing the glass substrate that can restrain the plate thickness deviation generated locally in a flat glass. The method comprises the steps of supplying a flown glass from a glass supply pipe to a shaping body having a supply groove, using the shaping body to shape the flat glass via an overflow pull-down method, wherein the supply groove has the uniform bottom surface shapes formed by the amount of the flown glass overflown from the supply groove in the extension direction and the width direction orthogonal with the extension direction of the supply groove. The manufacturing method of the glass substrate has a shaping step of supplying the flown glass of which the maximum temperature difference is below 30 DEG C and the viscosity is more than 22000dPa*s and less than 38000 dPa*s from the glass supply pipe to the supply groove, converging the flown glass at the lower end of the shaping body to form the flat glass; an end part cooling step of cooling the two end parts of the flat glass in the width direction in a manner of restraining the flat glass shaped in the shaping step to generate the plate thickness deviation locally.
