Abstract:
To increase detection accuracy of an object.SOLUTION: A detection device includes: a single light source for irradiating an irradiated body with irradiation light; a conveyance mechanism having a conveyance belt on which the irradiated body is placed for conveying the conveyance belt in one direction; an imaging unit arranged on a downstream side of the irradiated body in a conveyance direction with respect to the light source for imaging the irradiated body directly thereunder by using the irradiation light emitted from the light source; a detection unit for extracting color corresponding to a foreign matter mixed into or adhered to the irradiated body from a pickup image of the irradiated body imaged by the imaging unit, and for extracting an image region having the extracted color to detect the foreign matter; a casing for housing the light source and the imaging unit and the detection unit therein; and a window part arranged in the casing, positioned between the light source and the imaging unit and the irradiated body, and provided with translucency for transmitting the irradiation light.
