Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible, when reading an image formed on a transfer medium, to perform a maintenance operation on an image reading part even during execution of a job.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: an image forming part that performs image formation on a transfer medium on the basis of image data; and a control part that controls the image formation by managing a job, acquires a result of reading of the transfer medium after the image formation performed by the image reading part to perform predetermined processing, and can control a maintenance operation on the image reading part. The control part determines whether setting for reading performed by the image reading part is included in the job, and when the setting for reading is not included in the job, switches to a maintenance operation job parallel mode in which the maintenance operation can be executed in parallel with the output of the job to enable execution of the job.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
