Abstract:
Provided is an indwelling needle assembly that makes it possible to completely evacuate blood remaining inside of an outer needle base in a short amount of time. The indwelling needle assembly 1 is provided with an outer needle 2, an outer needle base 3, a hemostatic valve 4, a ventilation filter 44, and a connection member 5. The connection member 5 is provided with: a fitting section 51 fitted to the tip of the outer needle base 3; an insertion section 52 that is inserted in a slit 45; a first opening 54 that opens on the rear end surface of the fitting section 51 and that communicates with a through hole 53; and a second opening 55 that opens on a side surface of the insertion section 52 on a side symmetrical with the first opening 54 with respect to the axis, and that communicates with the through hole 53.
