Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a soil improver and a soil improving method that can improve microbial flora of the soil in a short period of time.SOLUTION: A soil improver contains low-molecular-weight chitin, a chitin hydrolysate, as an active ingredient. The low-molecular-weight chitin preferably has a number average molecular weight of 2,000-50,000. A soil improving method includes adding low-molecular-weight chitin, obtained by decomposing chitin, to the soil so that its content in the soil becomes 0.02 mass% or more.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
