Abstract:
An electrode for a lithium ion secondary battery, said electrode including: an aluminum base material, the surface of which being covered by a film; and an active material layer formed on the film of this aluminum base material, wherein: this active material layer contains active material particles and a binding agent; the active material particles contain at least particles of a lithium-nickel-containing composite oxide having a laminar crystal structure; and on the surface of the aluminum base material on which the active material layer is formed there are, in any square region for which one side is 100 µm, no more than five recesses for which the longest diameter of the opening part is at least 5 µm, or the LiOH content in the active material layer is less than 0.5% by mass in relation to all of the active material particles.
