Abstract:
To provide a measuring device and a measurement method with which, even when being installed in a moving body, it is possible to accurately measure a direction of wind.SOLUTION: A meteorological observation device 20 includes a weather instrument 28 provided with an anemoscope 281 for measuring a wind direction and set in a first azimuth, and is provided on a roof of an operator cab 15 of a tower crane. This meteorological observation device 20 comprises a rotation part for turning the weather instrument 28, a magnetic azimuth sensor 45 for detecting a second azimuth, and a control part 46. The rotation part rotates a turntable table rotated by a drive motor 35. The turntable table is fixed with a pole to which a control unit equipped with the magnetic azimuth sensor 45 and the weather instrument 28 are attached. The control part 46 calculates a current azimuth of the anemoscope 281 on the basis of the second azimuth of the magnetic azimuth sensor 45 and when it is detected that the anemoscope 281 exists out of an azimuth range that indicates the first azimuth, drives the rotation part so that the anemoscope 281 is included in the azimuth range.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
