Abstract:
To provide a power converter with an overvoltage protection circuit which can suppress a change of power consumption characteristic while suppressing an increase of a manufacturing cost.SOLUTION: A power converter has a converter performing at least one of a conversion from AC power to DC power and a conversion from DC power to AC power, and an overvoltage protection circuit connected to a DC side of the converter and suppressing overvoltage of DC voltage of the converter. The converter has a pair of DC terminals, and the overvoltage protection circuit has a first resistance element provided between the pair of DC terminals, and a second resistance element provided in parallel to the first resistance element, in which a first state where current is flown to the first resistance element and the second resistance element and a second state where current flown to the first resistance element and the second resistance element is blocked can be switched.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
