Abstract:
To provide a hot dip Zn-Al-Mg based plated steel material having an excellent surface corrosion resistance, and being capable of preventing a coating film blister even in a case where a coating film is formed on a plating surface.SOLUTION: A hot dip Zn-Al-Mg based plated steel material adopted includes a plating layer formed on a surface of a steel material. The plating layer contains an average composition of Mg: 1 - 10 mass %, Al: 4 - 22 mass %, and a rest of Zn and an impurity. The plating layer contains an Al/Zn mixed structure at an area ratio of 10 - 70% in a base material of a ternary eutectic structure of Al/Zn/MgZn2. The mixed structure of Al/Zn contains a first region with a Zn concentration of 75 mass % or more and less than 85 mass % and a second region inside the first region with a Zn concentration of 67 mass % or more and less than 75 mass %, the second region having an Al phase and a Zn phase in a mixed state. A boundary length of the Al phase and the Zn phase per 1 μm2 area of the second region in a cross section of the plating layer is 20 μm or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
