Abstract:
To provide a manufacturing method of a confetti-like alumina-silica composite sol, capable of manufacturing a confetti-like alumina-silica composite sol in which alumina-silica composite fine particles of a special shape are dispersed with improved efficiency.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of a confetti-like alumina-silica composite sol includes: continuously or intermittently adding sodium aluminate to an alkaline silica sol where silica microparticles are dispersed in an aqueous solvent in a temperature range of 80°C or over and under 100°C at a rate of 0.02 pt.mass or over and 1 pt.mass or under of sodium aluminate to 100 pts.mass of the silica microparticles, followed by aging, to prepare an alumina-silica composite fine particle dispersion involving alumina-silica composite fine particles; then, adding an alkali metal silicate to the alumina-silica composite fine particle dispersion, followed by aging and further continuously or intermittently adding a silicate liquid for a reaction, to obtain confetti-like alumina-silica composite fine particles.SELECTED DRAWING: None
