Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0156848
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
The invention relates to a strip steel punching tool with at least one strip-shaped punching blade (3) which has a cutting edge (6), which is held in a slot (4) of a blade carrier (5) and the rear end of which, lying opposite the cutting edge (6), is supported via its bearing surface on a metal plate (1) harder than the rear end of the blade, at least the cutting edge (6) of the punching blade (3) being hardened. To achieve an accurate cut which is equal over the entire length of the punching blade (3), the bearing surface of the rear end of the blade is reduced in order in this way to form a deformation zone in the reduced bearing surface. The deformation resistance of the material of the punching blade is then lower, at least in the region of the bearing surface, than in the region of the cutting edge (6). Self-regulating cutting-blade alignment is thereby achieved since, in the case of excessively high local cutting forces, deformation of the overloaded reduced bearing surface takes place until the cutting force is distributed uniformly over the entire length of the cutting blade (6). Time-consuming alignment and setting work is thereby eliminated.
