Abstract:
The roll (100) comprises a non-rotatable crosshead (1) and a hollow roller (2) rotatable about this. Pressure for generating a linear pressure in the nip (10) is exerted in a longitudinal chamber (11) by a fluid which fills this and which has been brought to temperature in a heat exchanger (14). In addition, in the hollow roller (2) there are ducts (30), through which is fed the heat-exchange fluid which has been brought to temperature by a heat exchanger (24).
