PURPOSE:To retry the ending operation after the threading step in the case of failing in yarn ending and to carry out the subject yarn ending operation with reduced labor in high efficiency by using an apparatus provided with an ending mechanism to tie an upper yarn to a lower yarn and a yarn end holding mechanism to supply the threaded lower yarn to the yarn ending mechanism. CONSTITUTION:Ending operation of a double twister which is a spinning machine used in a twisting process is carried out by using an ending apparatus provided with a yarn ending mechanism 11 for ending an upper yarn 25 and a lower yarn 24 and a yarn end holding mechanism 12 to hold the threaded upper yarn 25 and lower yarn 24 with a clamp 20 in order to supply the yarns to the above ending mechanism 11. The ending mechanism 11 has a pair of untwisting nozzles 13,14 to loosen the twist of yarn end by the force of air jet and a twisting nozzle 15 to join the loosened yarn ends and apply a twist to the joint part. Both nozzles are supported on a main body 16. When the ending is failed, the ending operation after the threading step is retried to perform the ending of a double twister.
