PURPOSE: To support an observing operation for a pathological observer by formulating and incorporating an observing means for the pathological observer in a microscope image TV observation system.
CONSTITUTION: A microscope 13 has a motor-driven stage 14 controlled by a stage control part 7 and a TV camera 12 photographs a sample placed on the motor-driven stage 14. Then a TV camera 15 supported by a macrophotography stand 16 pucks up the whole image. Further, a console display 2 displays the state of the system and an operation menu to the observer and a pointing part 8 is used to make a selection in the displayed menu and specify an image area. Then the image of the whole sample photographed on the macrophotography stand 16 is segmented into blocks, the motor-driven stage 14 of the microscope 13 is automatically set at an image pickup position corresponding to a specified block, and images are picked up in order.
