PURPOSE:To write automatically an item name into a graph in forming a graph from a table by providing an item name retrieving means and an item name writing means. CONSTITUTION:When a table is displayed on a CRT2 and an item name position is designated by an item name position designating means 8 at first, the item name in the table is stored in an item name buffer 10 by the item name retrieving means 9. When the data location in the table is designated by a data position designating means 5, the numerical data in the table is stored in a data buffer 7 by a data retrieving means 6. When a data is stored in both buffers, a graph forming means 11 writes an optimized graph to an output data storage means 1 based on the physical data of a graph data storage means 3 at first, then the item name stored in the item name buffer 10 is written by an item name write means 12 and displayed on a CRT.
