PURPOSE:To generate every waveform corresponding to a clock pulse by ANDing the clock pulse with timing and mask data consisting of a bit data group and invalidating a specific clock pulse. CONSTITUTION:Pattern data from a pattern generator 12 is inputted to waveform formatter 17a-17n and supplies as an address signal to timing and mask data memories 21 and 24. Rising and falling data on a generated waveform and data for invalidating an unnecessary clock in RTWC mode are stored in the memories 21 and 24 as bit data groups assigned correspondingly to respective phases of a timing clock generator 13. Then a timing pulse generating circuit 22 ANDs data from the memories 21 and 24 with the pulse from the generator 13 to output a rising and a falling pulse signal to terminals R and S of a flip-flop 23. The flip-flop 23 outputs a test waveform to a DUT 19 through a driving circuit 6a.
