The invention concerns a water-treatment device which can be inserted into a water conduit or connected to a water supply point. The water-treatment device comprises treatment stages which are disposed in cascade-like manner in a housing. The treatment stages comprise at least a swirl device, an activated carbon filter, an ion-absorber and -exchanger, a capillary body and a microparticle filter.
