Abstract:
1,261,322. Detergent bar. AJINOMOTO CO. Inc. 6 March, 1970 [7 March, 1969], No. 10983/70. Heading C5D. A detergent bar comprises, in moulded or compacted form, a water-soluble mono- or di-salt of an N-acyl acidic amino acid having the formula wherein n is 1 or 2 and the acyl group contains 8 to 22 carbon atoms or a mixture of such salts. The salt may be an alkali metal, ammonium, triethanolamine or basic amino acid, e.g. lysine, ornithine or arginine salt. The acyl group may be lauroyl, tridecinoyl, decanoyl, meristyol, pentadecinoyl, palmitoyl, marganoyl, stearoyl or oleoyl group. 'Optional additions are higher fatty acid alkanolamides, N-acyl neutral 'amino acid salts, e.g. sodium N-methyl-N-lauroyl-betaalaninate, glycols, glycerine, 'alcohol and glycerides. The bar is prepared by milling the salt(s) of N-acyl acidic amino acid and any other solid ingredients with water, extruding the milled material and stamping the extruded material to 'form the desired bar. 'Less than 40%, preferably 3-20%, water is used.
