Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS4837051
Kind Code:
B1
Abstract:
1287990 Securing ends of wound packages; tensioning yarns; needles; measuring HACOBA-TEXTILMASCHINEN GmbH & Co KG 17 Nov 1970 [17 Nov 1969] 54638/70 Headings DIJ DID D1F and DIG [Also in Division B8] On completion of winding a thread package P, a thread traverse guide 20 in the form of a needle is thrust through the package adjacent its periphery (Fig. 4), and withdrawn, leaving a loop of thread 73 secured by the outer turns of the package. Traverse: A cam 15 driven by a motor 14 via an electro-magnetic clutch 14(a) (Fig. 1), reciprocates a bar 16 carrying collars 46, 47 between which a traverse guide bracket 30 pivots, bearing on the package surface with a ceramic nose member 54 (Fig. 4). The needle 20 is slidably mounted in bracket 30, and thread passes from a tensioner 25 to the package P through its eye. The motor 14 and clutch 14a also drive package P via spindle 12. Guide Needle 20 (Fig. 6) has an eye near its point, and a longitudinal groove 22, deeper than the thread diameter, extending back from the eye, so that thread may be drawn through the eye as the needle is thrust into the package and withdrawn. Thread tensioner 25 (Fig. 1), of the conventional type comprising two discs 25a, a spring 25b and an adjusting nut 25c, may be released by insertion of a wedge 26 between the discs on actuation of a solenoid 104. Measuring Device 63 (Fig. 1) is an automatically or manually resetable yardage counter, and drives cams 63a, 101, the former stopping the drive through clutch 14a on delivery of a predetermined length of thread, and the latter actuating, after a time delay produced by relay 102, the tensioner releasing solenoid 104 and a solenoid valve 92, supplying fluid to a cylinder 81. Tucking of Thread Loop. Cylinder 81 rocks a lever 70 carrying a bar 67 which moves a lever 37 on the traverse bracket against the resistance of a spring 52, the lever 37 thrusting forward the needle 20. In the fully forward position, lever 37 trips a switch 94, breaking the circuit to retract the needle. Doffing. After retraction of the needle, a counter-spindle 11 is withdrawn, dropping the package P into a container C (Fig. 8). Clamps 121-124 grip the thread extending from the needle to the package and blades 125, 126 cut the thread prior to initiation of winding a new package.
