O-(4-iodophenyl) (thiono) phosphoric (phosphonic) acid esters and ester amides of the formula IN WHICH R is an alkoxy, monoalkylamino or dialkylamino radical with 1-6 carbon atoms per alkyl group, R' is a phenyl radical, an alkyl radical with 1-6 carbon atoms, a monoalkylamino or dialkylamino radical with 1-6 carbon atoms per alkyl group, or an alkoxy radical with 3-6 carbon atoms, and X is oxygen or sulfur, WHICH POSSESS INSECTICIDAL AND ACARICIDAL PROPERTIES.
