1455211 Collar presses A R LOZANO 22 Jan 1974 [23 Jan 1973] 02918/74 Heading D1A A machine for hot pressing shirt collars comprises an adjustable die with a pair of pivoted members 1, 2 with interlocking fingers 4 and a third member 13 for the front of a collar. A flexible band 5 tensioned by being secured to a spring loaded drum 6 passes around the heated members 1, 2 and the member 13 is mounted on a rod 12 which passes through slots 10, 11 in the members 1, 2. In use a collar is placed round the members 1, 2 and 13 and the rod 12 is lowered by a pneumatic cylinder 14 expanding the fingers and lowering the member 13 to hold and slightly tension the collar. A second pneumatic cylinder 20 is actuated to lower a pair of arms 18, 19 and a second flexible band 17 carried thereby onto the collar to press it. The cylinders 16, 20 may be double-acting or spring returned.
