Abstract:

A pressurized, self-propellant, alcohol-free aerosol composition comprises a water-in-oil emulsion and a liquid propellant having a specific gravity less than the emulsion, wherein a portion of the propellant comprises the continuous phase of the emulsion. The active ingredient may be an insecticide or space deodorant (examples are given) or a miticide, bactericide, or insect repellant. The propellant may include propane, butane, iso-butane, iso-pentane, dichlorodifluoromethane, difluoroethane or tetrafluoroethane.ALSO:Insecticidal aerosol compositions contain as active ingredients mixtures of (1) pyrethrins, piperonyl butoxide and N-actyl bicycloheptene dicarboximide, (2) pyrethrins and piperonyl butoxide, and (3) allethrin and piperonyl butoxide.
