A tube reducing mill comprises means for driving each pair of roll stands, the means including two hydraulic motors 6, 61 , two corresponding pumps 5, 51 with motors 2, 21 for adjusting them, an input shaft 11 for driving the pumps, two epicyclic gear trains driven by the input shaft 11 interconnected with gearing driven by the hydraulic motors, and casings for the transmissions each having a vertical joint 1a, 3a in a plane passing through the axis of the input shaft. The input shafts are driven by a motor 32 through gearing 28, 29.
