Japanese Patent JPS4929715
Kind Code:
B1
Abstract:
1285734 Alarm system for cylinder lock U EREZ 1 Oct 1969 [4 Oct 1968] 48156/69 Heading E2A [Also in Division G4] A plate-tumbler cylinder lock mechanism having an alarm system which comprises an elongated, axially extending contact strip 7 mounted in the housing 1 and electrically insulated therefrom such as by the insulating material 8, the contact strip 7 extending below the top ends of the plate tumblers 5 at the side towards the lock opening direction, so that it makes contact with the pin or plate tumblers when rotation of the cylinder with the incorrect key is attempted, thus completing an electrical circuit incorporating a signalling device. The cylinder lock may also have a second similar contact strip 11 mounted adjacent to the first contact strip 7 and insulated therefrom which touches the top ends of the tumblers 5 in their extended position and is connected to the signalling device by way of a switch which is normally open and is adapted to be closed by an opening door window or drawer in which the lock is mounted, such that on forcing open the door, window or drawer the circuit to the signalling device is completed, but when the correct key is used, the second contact strip 11 and the plate tumblers break contact and disable the circuit to the signalling device. A spring 6 urges the cylinder 4 in a clockwise direction in Fig. 2 so that contact cannot inadvertently be made between the contact strip 7 and the plate tumblers 5 for example by vibration on a vehicle.
