1436226 Lubricants E R SQUIBB & SONS Inc 13 June 1973 [3 July 1972] 28186/73 Heading C5F [Also in Division C2] Compounds which inhibit the corrosivity of engine lubricants have the formula wherein X-Z-Y together with two carbons of the cycloalkyl ring form a 5- or 6-membered ring; R1 is hydrogen, aralkyl or acyl; n is 0, 1 or 2, and n1 is 0, 1, 2 or 3; R2 is hydrogen, C 1-8 alkyl or aralkyl; R3 is hydrogen, acyl, C 1-8 alkyl, aralkyl, C 1-8 alkoxy, carboxy, halo, alkenyl, nitro, cycloalkyl, amino, acylamino, where n2 is 0, 1 or 2, or dihydroxyalkyl; X and Y are each -CH 2 -, =N-, -O-, -S-, where R4 is hydrogen, C 1-8 alkyl or aryl (except that X and Y cannot both be -CH 2 -); Z is where R5 and R6 are each hydrogen, C 1-8 alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, haloalkyl, amino or aminoalkyl; and -X-Z-Y- can be taken together to form and include the acid addition salts thereof.
