Japanese Patent JPS5025396
Kind Code:
B1
Abstract:
1,140,366. Feeding sheets and webs. E. SERAGNOLI and A. SERAGNOLI, [trading as "G.D." SOC. IN ACCOMANDITA SEMPLICE DI ENZO SERAGNOLI E ARIOSTO SEBAGNOLI]. 16 Feb., 1966 [17 Feb., 1965], No. 6740/66. Heading B6B. [Also in Divisions B8 and H1] The sustained absence of an insulating tear strip 28, which is to be adhered to a cigarette wrapper 22, from between an electrically conductive sensitive element 37, and an electrically conductive drum 27 actuates at least one electrical circuit causing the machine to stop and/or an alarm 52 to operate. The contact member 37 may be clamped between two insulating plates (54, 541) (Fig. 4, not shown) which are sunken in grooves (36, 361) in the drum 27 to laterally guide the tear strip which is then held on the drum by suction until it has been adhesively adhered to the wrapper 22. The sensitive element 38 may consist of two contact rollers (43, 431) (Fig. 3, not shown) connected to corresponding relays (48, 491) with contacts (50, 51) wired in series to close a circuit only when the tear strip is absent from beneath both rollers. Alternatively, one contact roller may be used connected to a retarding relay which causes the machine to stop only if the circuit remains closed for a predetermined time. In another embodiment, in order to prevent the actuation of the electrical circuit during the short interval between successive tear strips 28, a cyclic switch 160, Fig. 5, is opened during such interval by a cam 61 mounted on the drum 27.
